Work on revision of Northfield's Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Regulations continues at a decent pace. Significant progress is being made by the Planning Commission, City staff, consultants, various commissions, task forces, and advisory groups.
Below is a status summary of the Comp Plan revision update by chapter, along with the relevant City commission working on the task, and the proposed schedule for the process through the end of this year.

Here is is the proposed schedule for the next few months. Regular Planning Commission meetings may have agenda items other than the Comprehensive Plan.
Tuesday, 8/28/07: Regular Planning Commission meeting: Review Community Identity (Chapter 5), Housing (Chapter 10), and Economic Development (Chapter 11)
Tuesday, 9/11/07: Regular Planning Commission meeting: Review Introduction (Chapter 1), Demographic Composition (Chapter 2), Environmental Resources (Chapter 3), and Sewer and Water Infrastructure
Tuesday, 9/18/07: Elected Officials Roundtable (officials and staff from Townships and Counties) 7:30 AM. Council Chambers. Discuss the Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Regulations revisions.
Tuesday, 9/18/07: Comprehensive Plan Open House: Armory, 7 PM
Tuesday, 9/25/07: Regular Planning Commission meeting: Discuss Open House comments; Review Parks and Recreation

Tuesday, 10/9/07: Joint Planning Commission meeting with the City Council to discuss the Comprehensive Plan, tentatively 5-7 PM. If no agenda items, can have meeting from 7-9 PM.
Tuesday, 10/23/07: Regular Planning Commission meeting: Public Hearing on Comprehensive Plan.
Monday, 11/5/07: City Council meeting: Adoption of Comprehensive Plan
The Planning Commission may consider scheduling an additional work session between 8/20 and 9/6 to review the various draft chapters prior to the Open House on September 18th. Date TBD but will be posted here when known.
